Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf: Sales Flop – Updated Monthly

March 8, 2011 // 44 Comments

No matter how much Liberals talk up electric cars and their future the fact is nobody really wants to actually own one. Chevrolet’s Volt sold a whopping 281 units in February 2011 and Nissan’s Leaf sold 67 copies. By comparison, Honda sells, on average, more than 5,500 Fits per month and Ford sold 23,111 Fusions.
Now is about the time where a Liberal would tell you that the American consumer “doesn’t understand” why they need a Volt or Leaf or how Americans can’t make “intelligent decisions” about which cars they buy. Environmentalists will chime in saying how Americans “misunderstand” the technology behind the Volt and the Lead. President Obama will tell how how those two cars are the “future.”
