Gas is heading to $5.00 per gallon. Here in San Francisco the local Chevron is serving 91 Octane for just $4.67 9/10 per gallon. Here’s what President of the United States Barack Obama said:

We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain.
Does he think the American people are really that stupid when you have the current energy secretary Steven Chu having said this in 2008:

Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.
Will President Obama be investigating his own administration?

Don’t blame “Big Oil” (sounds so scary when you say it like that) as they make less per gallon of gasoline than Coca Cola makes per gallon of soda.

It’s been a little over a week since the Republicans re-took the House of Representatives and the Asti Spumante parties have surely died down. They can coast for two more months until the seats change hands the the real work begins.

Although Capitol Commentary’s articles revolve almost exclusively around what the Democrats are doing, it’s really a little more complicated than that… it’s what the Democrats say versus what they do. What are the Republicans saying that they will do beginning on January 20th?

“We can’t have 500 congressmen and senators who think it’s their job to bring home the bacon – and that’s what’s going to change,” South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint told CBS’ “The Early Show. “One of the first thing we’ll do in the House and Senate is ban earmarks as Republicans – that’ll get our eyes back on fixing our tax code, fixing social security and Medicare, getting America back to work.”
