After the Charlie Hebdo massacre, Islamic gunmen seized a Jewish deli and shot several Jews inside.  Here’s what Obama had to say about that: It is entirely legitimate for, uh, the American people to be deeply concerned when you’ve got a buncha, uh… violent, vicious zealots, uh, who behead people or randomly shoot… uh… a buncha folks, uh, in a, in...

Members of ISIS marched 21 Christians onto a beach and beheaded them then released a video about it titled “Message Signed in Blood to the Nation of the Cross.”  While we won’t link to the video, we will provide a few screenshots.  The last image is the sea running red from blood: These are the actions of barbarians.  Obviously the video –...

A gunman shot up a cafe in Denmark during a “free speech” event hosted by an artist who had drawn caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.  An automatic weapon was used in the attacks… exactly what happened in Paris last month.  Not long after this attack came a second one in the same city but at a synagogue.  After the initial murders in Paris...

An excerpt from the latest Time magazine: As Parisians absorb the enormity of this week’s killings, residents in some of these banlieues say their areas need urgent changes – better education and more job opportunities – to reverse the growing drift of young Muslims like the Kouachi brothers toward radical groups bent on advancing their beliefs through violence....

Once, many moons ago, I lived in Paris, France.  It is sad what has become of that nation.  Liberalism has weakened it and Islam is slicing it open like a can. Capitol Commentary is not gone from this Earth… just a pause in life. ...

Ebola isn’t a crisis… yet.  However, every epidemic starts from nothing.  I was reminded of this quote from the British zombie movie 28 Days Later: It started as rioting. But right from the beginning you knew this was different. Because it was happening in small villages, market towns. And then it wasn’t on the TV any more. It was in the street...

President Obama has spent much of his political career belittling George W. Bush and Dick Cheney for their “war on terror” policies, for Iraq, and for creating more anti-American sentiment in the world.  His strategy of putting the other guy down – while offering unrealistic solutions such as going on an apology tour – hasn’t gotten...

For anybody who saw the film “2016: Obama’s America,” the lesson was clear – Obama wanted to make the “weak” “strong” and the “strong” “weak.”  Clearly, since that movie was made 4+ years ago we have seen this in action.  America is more distant from traditional allies such as England and the...

In case you’ve been living under a rock, American photographer James Foley had his head cut off on video by the Islamic terror group ISIS.  Mr. Foley had been captured in Syria during Thanksgiving of 2012 and, unfortunately, met a grim end as a propaganda tool. ISIS stands for “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria” and they want to re-create the caliphate...

Comments Off on U.S. Army Major Gen. Harold Greene Murdered in Afghanistan Terror Attack

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the murder of Army Major General Harold Greene.  He was the highest ranking officer to die overseas since 1970.  His death highlights why the U.S. is doomed to fail in Afghanistan: we follow the rules, the enemy doesn’t (and he won’t stop until we’re dead or gone). Greene was 55 years of age and earned his...

Comments Off on Failure in Iraq Teaches Military Not to Sacrifice for Fickle Politicians

Since combat operations began in Iraq, 4,448 Americans have died.  In Afghanistan, the number is 2,229.  Tens of thousands more Americans were wounded, some catastrophically.  These brave men and women were sent to nations halfway around the world and many of them never came back.  They left parents, children, siblings, and spouses who never saw them again.  And now Iraq is descending into chaos and it was mostly for naught. Were I in the military I’d likely feel a whole lot of anger at the civilian “leadership.”...

Comments Off on What is the ISIS Which is Taking Over Iraq?

We discussed them recently regarding their takeover of Iraq.  But what is this terrorist group really about? ...

Comments Off on Why Liberals Want to See Iraq Implode

Iraq – as we have known it – is falling apart and losing cohesion.  The group working to destroy Iraq, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, is a reconstituted terrorist organization composed of al Qaeda as well as several Sunni jihadist groups.  Their goal is to re-establish the Caliphate (Islamic empire).  They’re starting with Iraq and Syria: After seizing the northern city of Mosul on Monday, on Tuesday ISIS stormed down Iraq’s route 1 highway to take Tikrit. This victory has left them emboldened and only...

Comments Off on Obama’s Taliban Prisoner Exchange a Bad Deal, Will Endanger U.S. Soldiers

The U.S. will release 5 detainees in exchange for 1 captured American solider.  Thus, the lesson is that if you capture an American soldier, you’ll get ransom for him or her. This places all soldiers at risk. Here’s what the Taliban commander had to say about this “exchange.” I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire Afghan Muslim nation, all the mujahideen and to the families and relatives of the prisoners for this big victory regarding the release of five Taliban leaders from Guantanamo prison. I thank...

Benghazi wasn’t a terrorist attack?  There was no al Qaeda involvement?  It was all because of a video? It’s all a lie: Newly declassified transcripts show top defense officials who briefed Obama on the day of the Benghazi attack described it as a terrorist attack and told the president so, yet he pushed a false narrative about a video. Furthermore,...
