Kleptocracy, alternatively cleptocracy or kleptarchy, (from Greek: “thief” and “power, rule”, hence “rule by thieves”) is a form of political and government corruption where the government exists to increase the personal wealth and political power of its officials and the ruling class at the expense of the wider population, often without pretense of honest service. This type of government corruption is often achieved by the embezzlement of state funds.
What was so frustrating was that our press, the so-called 4th Estate, did not press Obama harder on his changing Benghazi story. He admits he sent someone who knew nothing of the situation, Susan Rice, out to tell the American people all about Benghazi even though the CIA had real time intelligence from the ground showing the attack was a clear case of terrorism.
Rice stuck to the point the entire thing was because of a You Tube video.
And maybe now there was a secret CIA prison in Benghazi?
And the press is… where?
Where has the press been on Fast & Furious?
What about all the waste, corruption, and cronyism regarding firms like Solyndra?
The latest batch of lies surrounds a wind farm in Oregon:
Vice President Joe Biden and the White House pressured the Department of Energy to issue a loan guarantee in 2010 for a wind farm in Oregon, undermining the president’s claim of political neutrality in the loan process, according to emails released recently by a key congressional committee.
“[The] emails indicate that senior administration officials—including those at the White House—were involved in approving specific projects, applying inappropriate pressure on career employees,” said Ali Ahmad, communications adviser to the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
We wrote about wind farms in Oregon – back in 2009:
In the State of Oregon, General Electric made headlines after it was awarded a wind turbine contract worth $1.4 billion. According to Oregon law, 25% of that state’s customers must get their power from “renewable” resources by 2025 (California is 33% by 2020 and Washington State is 15% by 2020). We’re talking about a tremendous amount of electrictiy which will need to be generated:
To satisfy those requirements, West Coast utilities will need to come up with about 16,000 megawatts of generation from renewable sources by 2025. That’s a staggering amount of electricity — more than double the output of the entire federal hydroelectric system in the Northwest, which includes 31 dams and one nuclear plant.
Not only is it a staggering amount of power but the money needed to build these projects is equally large. Who is going to foot the bill for all of this juice? You got it… the taxpayer:
But during the past eight years, while the state has taken applications for $300 million in tax breaks to subsidize the development of the windiest, most transmission-accessible sites, it has yet to do any substantive analysis of how big a subsidy is necessary — if any — to continue attracting investments.
That’s our money being used to fulfill some environmentalists’ agenda and political cronyism, too.
Is the press writing about this?
It’s almost like the Obama administration is robbing the bank and the press is driving the getaway car.
The Dow is down over 700 points since last week? It’s “bad news” in Germany and Greece. Companies are laying off because of Obamacare? It’s bogus posturing meant to blame the president. Unemployment is rising? It’s Hurricane Sandy. Taxes are set to shoot up January 1st? It’s the Republicans not wanting to compromise. Gas prices are high? It’s because the economy is picking up.
You name a condition, the press has an excuse for it.
I have a name for it: Disgusting.
