I have to admit, this statement caught me unawares. But Keith Olbermann, who can’t seem to keep a job down, said this on ABC News over the weekend:
Yeah. One of the — one of the things I turned to, to try to establish that was to look at the average gas price at various key moments, and the lowest price in the last six years, the nadir of gas prices at the pump, was the day of this president’s inauguration in 2009. There has to be some connection between that being the least busy political moment of a president’s career, where you’re not going to — you’re not going to hurt them, you’re not going to harm him that way, and the price of gas. There has to be an almost deliberate or at least a side effect quality to that. There must be.
The Left has a new way to come rushing to the side of Obama. This being despite the fact that Secretary of Energy Steven Chu said he wanted Americans to pay European levels for gas:
Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels of Europe.
Olbermann is simply dishonest (which we knew) however his narrative is a novel one… that people all over the world including in OPEC are secretly plotting to try and help Obama lose his re-election bid.
