President Obama Setting Up Supreme Court’s Conservative Justices in Case Obamakare is Voted Down

The reason why justices to the United States Supreme Court are not elected but instead appointed to lifetime terms is to minimize as much as possible any outside influence.  After all, judges who stand for election might appeal to special interest groups the way Democrats pander to Big Union.

But leave it to one of the most partisan presidents ever to already start bullying the Supreme Court regarding his pet, Obamakare:

Ultimately, I am confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.

And I’d just remind conservative commentators that, for years, what we have heard is, the biggest problem on the bench was judicial activism, or a lack of judicial restraint, that an unelected group of people would somehow overturn a duly constituted and passed law.

And here we have the central tactic of Liberals: bully, undermine, personally attack critics, and attempt to hint at some sort of revolution.

The threat is quite clear… the Supreme Court is unelected and and overturning of a law passed by elected officials is morally wrong.

And, for good measure, Republicans are somehow hypocrites by maintaining that allowing the Government to force someone to buy something is “judicial activism.”


And Obama campaigned that George W. Bush was Divider-in-Chief and he, Obama, would Unite everybody!

What a load of garbage and how hypocritical can you get?

Liberals are threatening at the sidelines… using every tool in their arsenal… racism, undemocratic behavior, civil rights, class warfare, etc… to bully their way into another 4 years for Obama.

Obama holds little respect for the institutions as president he has sworn to protect.  Who can forget during his State of the Union speech he showed his contempt for the Supreme Court by saying:

Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections.  Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong.

The day a people no longer respects its judiciary because their “leader” has incited hatred against them is the day that nation falls.

    He is sitting the stage for the decision in June. If Obamacare is overturned, I suspect there will be an outpouring of outrage, the likes of which we have never seen before. That’s what Barack Obama wants and expects to happen, if he doesn’t get his way.

    You called it right, the liberals are a bunch of hypocrites.

    As you mentioned, basically what Obama said was that the SC should never overturn any law passed by the Congress, so why even have a SC at that point? Either Obama doesn’t understand or he is purposely misrepresenting the role of the SC. Obama wants to run the country with no constraints.

    Funny. For a guy bemoaning all that money in politics that Citizens v. United supposedly unleashed, he doesn’t appear to be distancing himself all that much from Super PACs.

    Seems to me that Obama welcomes the funds from special intrests who bankrolled his campaign. He has mastered the art of manipulation. To his credit, I think he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he is doing and during his campaign the sheeple weren’t paying attention to what he was saying about socializing this country. It seems so ironic that this President can raise a ton of money for his campaign, but he can’t turn this country’s economy around. I don’t think he wants to or he would inspire Americans with confidence the way he inspired voters with the promise of change.

    A strong majority? HA!! The vote in the House on Obamacare was 219-212, with 34 of Obama’s own Democrats voting against him. If that’s a strong majority I’d like to know what he considers a close vote.

    If Obama thinks the court should not overturn laws passed by democratically elected bodies then we need to do some adjusting in this country.

    Separate But Equal – ruled unconstitutional by the Court. Under Obama’s rules, we need to bring it back.

    Roe v. Wade – laws against first trimester abortions ruled unconstitutional. Under Obama’s rules, abortion should still be illegal.

    There are countless Supreme Court decisions over the years that can be used to demonstrate the complete stupidity of Obama’s statement yesterday.

    If Obama had his way he would probably disolve the Supreme Court. The Court is nothing but a road block in his plan to erode liberty in our country and convert us to a socialist nation.

      CP, I had forgotten about how close the vote tally actually was and how many Dems crossed the aisle. And let us not forget about the Christmas Eve vote in the Senate where a tool like Arlen Specter was promised plum positions if he threw his vote behind ObamaCare.

      ObamaCare remains one of the most shamefully cynical and corrupt pieces of legislation ever.
