The Dishonest Left

Posted on Mar 16 2012 - 1:00am by Harrison

Many are still in denial about the hypocrisy we find on the Left side of the political spectrum.  We’ll ignore 8 years of Ronald Reagan and 4 years of George H.W. Bush.  The media wasn’t necessarily “fair” but it was in the days before 24/7 news programming, email (for most people) and blogs.  And so for 8 years of Bill Clinton the Liberals in the media had their way only showing their claws for Ken Starr.

Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge made their name during the Clinton era and have acted, in  small degree, as a counter-balance to the tilting we find in the other direction.

But it wasn’t really until George W. Bush did the media come out in force with their bias.  Bush’s term was divisive to say the least, but any nation that suffers such a terrorist attack will experience some social and political turmoil.  But the bias seen in the post-2001 days was really too much to take at times.  And it wasn’t limited to a few fringe wackos but key members of the Democratic party participated such as when Democratic Senator Harry Reid called the president a “loser.”

A recent Pew Poll found that a whopping 8% of journalists were Conservative.  And back in 2007 a report done by Liberal MSNBC looked at 144 “major” journalists and found that 90% of them gave to Democrats.  And during the same year, a study conducted by Harvard University found that most media outlets had a Liberal media bias and that Fox News appeared to have a Conservative bias only because everybody else was tilting so far Left (Fox News was found to be the most “fair and balanced”).

So we know the bias is there.

Evidence and studies using hard facts exist.

Why haven’t Liberals been totally discounted as a group of slanderous liars then?

Because their followers agree with the bias, that’s why.

A recent Pew poll found that in terms of online “relationships” (Twitter, Facebook, emails, etc…) Liberals tend to be the least tolerant group out there.  The least willing to listen to alternative points of view and the most willing to “de-friend” or exclude people with whom they disagree.

Every group will have intolerant members whether it be Catholics, Vegans, Republicans, Democrats, or Left Handers.

But politically speaking Liberals are more intolerant than Conservatives are.

Since only 8% of journalists are Conservatives, and since out of all journalists it appears that 90% of them donate to Democrats it’s no wonder that we have David Axelrod, the 2012 Communications Director for President Barack Obama saying that Rush Limbaugh was wrong to call Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” but it’s okay for $1 million man Bill Maher to call Sarah Palin a “cunt” and a “twat” because she is a public figure while Fluke is not and it’s not all over the news.

And Democrats say Republicans don’t care about women.

There will be no outrage, sadly, because Liberals agree to double standards, hypocrisy, and slander.

There is not a lot worse in life than such basic dishonesty.

Unfortunately there is not a lot to be done to fix the root of the problem as bias appears to exist everywhere.  All that can be done is to shine sunlight onto the corrupt and rotting deceptions we come across hoping it will act as a cleansing agent.

The most glaring example I can think of is the bias and dishonesty that raised its head after the shooting in Arizona. I was honestly shocked when the left so swiftly moved to attach Sarah Palin and attempt to blame her and “uncivil” political discourse for what had happened.

I refrained from writing about it until more was known about the origins and background of the shooter. When it was clear that it had nothing to do with Sarah Palin or the recent political discourse, I wrote a post that bemoaned the shooting, but called out the left for their dishonesty.

I was shocked at the response I received from one of my coauthors. He is normally very level-headed, even if we do not agree on some of the issues, but you would have thought I was taking up for Satan himself. He completely disregarded the facts of the case and there was nothing I could say to change his mind.

I suppose my long comment is to say this. I agree with your post and all we can do is continue pointing out the bias and dishonesty. It is sad that so many people agree with it.

The left became so unhinged by Bush that they brought the rhetoric up to new levels and the media jumped on board and threw aside any charade of neutrality. And it has only continued since that time.
I also find that liberals tend to be the least tolerant people, if you don’t agree with them they try to shout you down and I think that might have to do with the fact that conservatives now have more of an outlet to challenge them on. Liberals were not used to being challenged because the media was on their side, but now that the alternative media is booming they don’t know how to handle the criticism.

You would think that women’s lib organizations would embrace Sarah Palin and that women on the left would do the same. Oddly enough, I haven’t met too many women who like her. I don’t get it! What’s not to like? She is a working mother of five, who is politically outspoken. Isn’t she the woman who embodies the women’s movement? To me she is!
Then again, I live in liberal ville! At a recent social event a friend made an announcement telling the crowd, she’s a conservative, meaning me. In an instant, I became the red-headed step child. I make no apologies for being conservative, so I left the left. Aren’t liberals supposed to be open-minded and all accepting of everyone?

Sunlight is the only disinfectant that we have. It’s only a matter of time before people just stop believing them. Problem is that it might be a very long time.
