Kooks in Kalifornia Push Klimate Change

Kalifornia governor Jerry Brown said at a “global warming” conference held yesterday in San Francisco:

The main thing we have to deal with in climate change is the skepticism, the denial and the cult-like behavior of the political lemmings that would take us over the cliff.

The only thing Brown is doing is pushing jobs out of the Golden State which has some of the highest unemployment in the entire United States – 11.7% versus 8.6%.  The jobs exodus is so severe that cities are going broke as is the state.

In fact, not three days ago Brown announced that Kalifornia is $2.2 billion short for the year.  With mandatory cuts coming because of the shortfall Brown will be in a great position to… try and raise taxes!

Higher taxes is really what “Global Warming” is all about… funding the Liberal Big Government state.  Use an excuse… any excuse… and sell the hell out of it to take more money out of peoples’ wallets.  If they think they’re “helping” the environment – all the better.

Speaking of “Global Warming” taxes… Canada – home to oil reserves almost as large as Saudi Arabia – pulled out of Kyoto agreement because it would have cost that nation $14 billion.  All of this as the Durban conference on “Global Warming” tries to make rich nations send their money to poor countries to compensate them for a changing climate which, they claim, is caused by burning fossil fuels.

It’s worth presenting this little factoid about “Global Warming” again:

Wow mankind makes a huge contribution!

Jerry Brown’s little summit included many potshots at Republicans who don’t want to needlessly tax Americans.  In fact, when Bill Clinton was president and the Kyoto Protocol came up for a vote in the U.S. Senate it was rejected by 95 to 0.

The lesson?  When it comes time to write the checks, countries balk.  Canada.  The U.S.  India.  China.  All these “Global Warming” conferences are in the end is but another way to try and steal money from people in one nation and give them to people in another.  Of course, the nations that would get the money are corrupt and it would largely disappear down a rathole of corruption.

Once again, more lies from the Left as they seek new and inventive ways to steal from your wallet – and make you unemployed and businesses fold up shop and move to sunnier pastures.

Guest writer William McCullough gave us his thoughts earlier in the week in an article titled: California Dreaming or How Can So Many Stupid People Live in One Place?

Could that be why the unemployment rate in Kalifornia is so high?

  1. I think you nailed it. Global warming is nothing but a means to an end. The end being taking as much money into the government coffers as possible in order to fund the entitlement state.

    • Great policy for states like Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah which are near Kalifornia and are more than happy to get all the employers who leave the state because of over-regulation, taxes, and government BS.

  2. Great article on the subject of “man-made climate change!” Loved the use of K’s!

I wrote about this today as well with the 8 questions from WND to ask a believer, the new lows set in the EU carbon market and the recent failure of the Durbin Summit. (http://bit.ly/s37mPE)

As always, keep up the great work!

  3. Speaking of Earth’s climate cycles, it shocks most people to hear that the world had a mini-ice age in the 14th century (well before we started adding CO2 to the atmosphere).

    • Yes the “Little Ice Age” I believe it was called.

The climate is always changing… and to think that the sun has nothing to do with it is absurd. These people are dishonest at best or crooks at worst.

  4. The chart you used is accurate, but not to indicate anthropogenic contribution to Climate Change. The water vapor has always been there, regardless of the global climate. Take away the water vapor and do a comparison of the other four contributors from 1950 and now. You will see that there is a significant change in the contribution of man made pollutants in the atmosphere. That is significant in comparison, not in volume. Not much volume is needed to affect the climate. Global Climate Change is real. If you are denying it then you are not looking at all the data, just the bits you choose…

      • Yep. Same info… They neglect to state that the water vapor has always been there and though they do put in the rest of the facts, they don’t make side-by-side comparisons easy to see and add info to muddle it for the lay viewer. There have been significant increases in all anthropogenic additions to the atmosphere. 80k ppb CO2 change from pre-industrial to Y2K. What is “natural additions”? Population growth made possible by the industrial/technological age is still the cause, the entire increase is anthropogenic. Sorry, still bad info there. Climate change would have occurred with or without us, humans are just accelerating the rate and increasing the levels. ~shrug. The world will make it through the change just fine, as it has many times in the past. Biota on the surface will take the brunt of the damage. :)

        • I think the point is simply that water vapor is the biggest “greenhouse” gas and yet virtually 100% of it is out of our control.

Can’t be spreading the truth… would undermine the argument.

Also, CO2 is a rather poor absorber of heat. Another inconvenient truth.

And then there’s solar activity… the list goes on…

          • http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/_graphs3/ has data about temperature over time, they are not pushing info about climate change, just showing data. As I noted above, the earth is warming and even though there are many reasons for this, seven billion humans is the difference between what is happening now and what has has happened in millennia past. Anyone attempting to discount the anthropogenic cause of the current state of the warming must not understand that the impact of our existence MUST be tipping environmental balance.

  5. “The main thing we have to deal with in climate change is the skepticism, the denial and the cult-like behavior of the political lemmings that would take us over the cliff.”

From a lot that has twisted, hid and lied about the data because it presented inconvient conclusions and has been desparately grasping at straws because of it, that is indeed a rich quote.
