Zuccotti Park Clean-Up: Whiny Leftist Anarchists

Posted on Oct 15 2011 - 1:00am by Harrison

Zuccotti Park, Ground Zero for the Occupy Wall Street bunch is privately owned (by Brookfield Office Properties Inc.) but NYC Mayor Bloomberg announced that the area, now a center of filth, sweat, and grime, was to be cleaned the following morning (Friday) at 7am.  The tents, sleeping bags, and “residents” wouldn’t be allowed back.

Brookfield had appealed to public officials to clear the park because:

In the Oct. 11 letter to NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Brookfield’s C.E.O., Richard B. Clark, said the four-week old “trespassing of the protesters” has created “a health and public safety issue that must be addressed immediately.”

After “political pressure” Mayor Bloomberg blinked.  In contrast with cleanings in cities such as Seattle, Denver, and San Diego moved to reclaim their parks from smelly protesters, NYC blinked and the protesters would be allowed to continue soiling the park.

The Leftists, of course, saw the postponement of fumigation of their new home as a victory and, emboldened by it, marched uptown.  The result was violence and numerous arrests as England’s Mail Online detailed.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg, more Democrat than Republican, said earlier he is supportive of these protesters as long as they don’t “break the law.”

Will silly elected officials never learn?

Is it any wonder there will eventually be a few deaths (blamed on “the man” of course) because of this appeasement?  According to the San Francisco Chronicle:

Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, who represents a portion of northern Manhattan, said he feels like he is a part of the movement.

“Every year the budget of New York City is balanced on the backs of the working class and middle class people,” Rodriguez said in an interview. “I believe that the wealthy that have been doing better in the last few years, especially Wall Street, should increase their contribution.”

Smelly Leftists, living in filth and dirty sleeping bags, are playing the holdout game.  Occupy a piece of land (illegally) then wait for eviction and try to get as many people on their side “hurt” as possible so they can play the victim (the way all Leftists) do:

He got run over (with photographers around him)!

A peaceful bunch.

Looks just like the Tea Party marches, doesn’t it?

Democrats are going to soon have a real problem on their hands as these types of antics continue to escalate.  It is very clear now that these “protesters” do not represent the average American.  Backed by Liberals groups like ACORN remenants, Big Union, and George Soros, something will have to be done.

But Democrats don’t want to do anything because they think this will some how “catch fire” and spread across the country taking down the Republican Party in the process.

Hot Air reports that MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch said this:

The other thing it needs, and I don’t want it to come out the wrong way… if we think – not needs but will happen.  If you think back to the late 60s what is the most stirring image of all of the rebellion that happened – what do we remember?  Kent State.

Now I’m not saying somebody needs to get killed – there need – what will happen will there will be a climax moment of Class Warfare somehow played out onscreen that I think will – the same way 999 if you will kind of simplifies a message – that articulates this clash.

This thinking is very wrong but the Left needs one of their own to die like Horst Wessel.

It is the Democrats who are going to take a major hammering as television viewers at home look at these aimless, smelly, dirty, incoherent dolts claiming “oppression.”

They had their little time to protest and they were asked (nicely) to leave.

They refuse to leave and hope the water cannons are brought out so as to portray themselves as “martyrs.”

Mayor Bloomberg sort of gets it but refuses to do anything about it:

“What they’re trying to do is take the jobs away from people working in this city,” the mayor declared in his harshest criticism of the three-week-old protest that has caught the attention of the nation.

“They’re trying to take away the tax base we have because none of this is good for tourism.”

Problem is, the chickens are coming home to roost because of the constant preaching of Democrats that it’s not your fault it’s the “1%” but, in the end, it is they who will end up with egg all over their faces which will spell big problems for Obama (who has not condemned the lawlessness) shortly.

Nice article. It is telling that ‘some’ of the issues the tea party embrace are embraced by the OWS group. However, they use two very different methods to achieve an end!

As for Donny Deutsch, he owns a 30 million dollar five story building downtown and a 20 million dollar home (most of it earned by his father). I think he is buying some cover :-)

I can’t help but wonder how far the liberals will go to make sure their protest is a “success”.

LD, it saddens me but I think the element of the occupy group that will be looking for trouble (to be fair, that is a minority) will go a lot further.

However, with winter coming I think that would probably start on the west coast in cities like LA, SF, San Diego and maybe Seattle as winter is about to happen. My hunch is that San Diego will not put up with any kind of a downtown city shut down. It is not as tolerant as NY.

The harder they try, the more money and people they pour into it, the bigger will be the Fail.

So these people are occupying private property and Bloomberg won’t do anything uless they break the law–it sounds like they already have.
I think you are right on; the Democrats think that they can use this protest to their benefit, but as the days drone on people will realize that these protesters do not represent them and eventually this will backfire on the Democrats.

Great post, great catch with pictures.
I’m actually against evacuation. Sure it’s a public health hazard, but the property is privately owned, and most of the danger is to protesters themselves.
These dangers should be taken seriously, of course. There was already at least one death due to overdose that seems to be linked to the protest. I’m sure infectious diseases will turn up sooner rather than later, and maybe somebody will get frozen to death b/f they will all decide to go home. Many protesters look like they need mandatory psychiatric evaluation.
What OWS does is showcase the lefts’ depravity, and it’s something that Dems will have to grapple with for a long time..
