Liberals distaste for America is par for the course.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or watching MSNBC – same thing) you’ve probably heard about WikiLeaks and their “exposing” of 76,000 documents from the U.S. military regarding Afghanistan.  On WikiLeaks’ “About” section this is written:

We believe that transparency in government activities leads to reduced corruption, better government and stronger democracies. All governments can benefit from increased scrutiny by the world community, as well as their own people.

We believe that it is not only the people of one country that keep their government honest, but also the people of other countries who are watching that government. That is why the time has come for an anonymous global avenue for disseminating documents the public should see.

Citizens under which type of government would stand the most to gain in the effort to keep their leaders “honest”?  Would it be people in a democracy or an autocracy?  Would someone living in Peoria, Illinois or Havana, Cuba see their life improve more if their government did something wrong and their leaders were called on it?

That’s the problem with WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange… he is not interested in really helping people by going after dictatorships or theocracies because Leftist Europeans despise the United States (though we have kept them safe since WWII).  What is even more ironic is that were he to truly expose the corruption of the governments of countries such as Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, or Venezuela you can bet the next time he ordered pizza he’d get explosive toppings.

Using the search feature on WikiLeaks’ website the only documents one finds relating to the corrupt nations above are pages with “U.S.” in them.  Not very enlightening.

That’s the thing about Leftists whether they are comedians, politicians, or writers… they claim to be “out on the edge” but yet they always go for the easy laugh, point, or example.  Comedians take shots at white Republicans or “Tea Baggers” and people think they are so cutting edge but when was the last time you heard a joke at the expense of the “protected” classes like Big Union, abusive welfare recipients, blacks, or anybody else?

Still thinking..?

Julian Assange might look pretty spiffy with his Euro-do but he’s not taking the same forceful “do good” attitude with the real bad guys of the world because people like Danny Glover, Oliver Stone, and Sean Penn have those bases covered.

Assange’s tactic is also extremely cynical because the only logical result of his actions are to hasten the withdraw of American and coalition forces from Afghanistan.  Does he even care what will happen to the women and children whom we leave behind when the Taliban re-take the entire country?  Will he “expose” the stoning of those people or the fact that possession of radios and televisions are met with murder?

Finally, here’s what the Taliban thinks of the documents made public by WikiLeaks:

Press secretary Robert Gibbs says the leak of some 90,000 secret military documents already has jeopardized the lives of Afghans working with the U.S. and its war allies. Gibbs says the Taliban has declared it will comb the documents for the names of people who have cooperated with international forces in Afghanistan.

Think of all the lives “saved” by WikiLeaks.

Is the United States perfect?  Of course not, but you have to ask yourself, unlike Alec Baldwin, would you rather live here or in all those other places in the world that WikiLeaks ignores?
