Obama on Economy: I Feel Your Pain (Not!)

- Obama says he is “not that far removed from what most Americans are going through.”
It almost sounds like something that was made up. Here’s President Obama telling the millions of unemployed Americans he feels their pain:
President Obama says he can relate to the plight of Americans striving in the struggling economy to pay bills while saving for their kids’ education.
He says he and first lady Michelle Obama took a hit like everybody else when the economy nearly collapsed, telling ABC that a college fund for daughters Malia and Sasha has gone “up and down” with the stock market.
Obama says the first couple is “not that far removed from what most Americans are going through.” He tells the network “it was just a few years ago that we had high credit card balances, we had two kids, thinking about college. We had our own retirement accounts, wondering if we were going to be able to get enough assets in there.”
The Obamas just returned from a holiday weekend in Maine where they dined on lobsters and crabs. And in August Michelle Obama and her children will take a nice vacation to Spain:
US First Lady Michelle Obama and one of her two daughters will take a summer break in Spain, a White House source said Monday.
Michelle Obama has reserved about 30 rooms for herself and her daughter, their friends and bodyguards at a five-star hotel in Benahavis near Marbella, hotel sources said.
Their daughters attend private school in Washington, D.C.
Once the Spain vacation is over, the family will travel to the Gulf Coast then spend 10 days relaxing in the exclusive Martha’s Vineyard retreat.
Times must be tough.
Since Obama became president, millions of Americans have lost their jobs and according to a CNN-Opinion Research poll just 42% of Americans thought Obama was doing a good job with the economy.
But how is this any different from people like Sen. John Kerry preaching about helping the poor but mooring his yacht in Rhode Island to dodge taxes in Massachusetts or Prince Charles telling everybody how to live but flying his private, CO2 spewing jet around the world?
When it comes to Liberal elites, it seems, the key is to do as they say not as they do.
But they know better than us because they’re, you know, intellectuals, and stuff.
And I’m sure Lenin and Stalin lived in the same types of houses and ate the same kinds of food the proletariat did.
Or not.

It should be clear to anyone with one eye that President Obama and his family have no inkling how the average American is faring. For him to claim otherwise is simply ludicrous. I don’t have a problem with his family taking vacation, as I know the job and the schedule has to be very demanding, but it seems they do take a lot of breaks. I don’t know much about the Spain trip, but it sounds like it is a bit overboard. Can you imagine the uproar there would have been if this was President Bush and his family? There would have been no end to it, as we all know too well.

It’s astounding how tone deaf this guy is. That he apparently served up that tripe with a straight face is a testament to how out of touch he is with the rest of America.
