Obama Spends Too Much Time on Healthcare
From Gallup.com:
- Americans clearly believe that Obama has not spent enough time dealing with economic problems; 60% hold this view, while 5% say he has spent too much time on the economy.
- A plurality of 41% of Americans say Obama has spent too much time on healthcare policy, while 31% say he has not spent enough time.
At the healthcare “summit” Nancy Pelosi said:
It’s about jobs. In it’s life, it [the health bill] will create 4 million jobs — 400,000 jobs almost immediately.
I wouldn’t count on Pelosi’s math too much, however, as she famously said that unless the stimulus was passed 400 million Americans would lose their jobs every month (note: that’s greater than the population of the United States).

The only reason he had to spend so much time on health care was that the Republicans in Congress blocked progress every step of the way, forcing extremely lengthy hearings in five different committees, one of the longest Senate debates in history, and every stalling tactic in the book.

Joe, I appreciate the fact that you think the Republicans are all powerful even when they don’t control the White House or both houses of Congress and didn’t until very recently even have the ability to stop a filibuster.
Fact is, Joe, your party just couldn’t get it done, even with a “manadate” and a super-majority.

And yet, the Democrats could have passed anything they wanted with their super majorities. The Democrats were spending too much time paying each other off.

I’m just waiting for any REAL jobs to appear in my state. Our state economic situation is even worse now than it was when all those funds were distributed to ‘create’ jobs. No new jobs in sight here where I live. Anyone see any jobs created by the stimulus packages out where they live?

The majority of Americans do not want this Healthcare atrocity to go forward! But what really frustrates and angers me is that the Senators and Congressmen in Washington who swore an oath to represent US (remember us, “we the people?”) are refusing to listen to us. We have no voice. In my dictionary, this is called tyranny! Second point, is that we simply cannot afford this takeover of our health care system! Our economy is already a shambles. Already states are saying if this passes, our state taxes will skyrocket! We already cannot afford the tax bill coming soon for the so-called stimulus packages Obama got passed. They (the deomcrats) are reduced to a party gone mad with the thirst for power. What a far cry from the outstanding men who gave up all for this country’s beginning as a free land. They had integrity and honor and vision. That’s why the Constitution is such a superb document. It was intended to prevent the kind of political tyranny we are now witnessing. What Obama and his party are doing is unconstitutional, but who will stop them? We, the people certainly can’t. The Supreme Court can’t. The GOP can’t. Millions of us can’t prevent 100 Senators and 1 rogue President from doing whatever they want, by whatever means they ‘deem’ necessary!!
