This is really just too funny and ironic not to share:

  • Why does that not surprise me? Some of these GREEN alternative energy sources are a bigger myth than Global Warming itself. Just dream up any old thing and some Kool-Aid drinking Greeny will buy it thinkng they’re saving the planet. Just like Carbon Exchanges.

You see Al Gore isn’t really that dumb. He buys Carbon Exchanges from HIMSELF and then probably gets a tax break for greening himself up. The larger his carbon footprint the more money he makes from buying carbon exchanges from himself.

That’s how he is approaching the Billionaire mark.

This would be funny if it wasn’t so infuriating!

  • I’m not understanding why it is a problem that he is using a lot of power if he gets it from solar panels and geothermal and similar sources. Isn’t the whole point of those alternative sources that we would still be able to use a lot of power but we will not be causing pollution associated with traditional sources? And you would think that if you wanted to be fair and balanced you would report on the amount of pollution (including carbon generation) that Al Gore is causing, not just the amount of power he is using.

    • Joe,

The point was that since Gore has gone “Green” his house uses 10% more power than it did when he was “on the grid.” And he only switched to his “green” power because he was busted for using so much juice in the first place.

      • The point is that it is irrelevant how much power he is using. The only thing that is relevant is how much pollution he is causing.

        • I think how much power he uses IS relevent. After all, isn’t the point of being “green” using fewer resources? His single house uses more power than 300-and-some regular houses. And because we don’t know what percentage his newly installed “green” power provides we can only assume he is still not being very “earth friendly.”

And if you think all those “green” power generating sources don’t produce a TON of evil CO2 during their manufacture, shipping, and installation then you’d be very wrong.

  • So now he’s using more energy from the grid after “going green?” I concur with Cracked World’s assessment.

BTW, here’s a fun Al Gore diddy.
