The New Look of Just Politics..?

February 5th, 2010 will mark the one year anniversary of Just Politics..? When I originally began this site it was simply to let the frustrated political writer within me get some time to stretch its legs a little. When I began this site I knew nothing of blogging (or WordPress) and, as a result, there was much fumbling around.
Through this website I have come into contact with many great people, most of whom either appear on my Links or, if they do not have a website of their own, on the Top Commentators list. Like most bloggers, I hold my day job and work on this site in my spare time. I enjoy the writing and the interactions with those who comment here. I thank everyone who reads my site and who is moved enough to comment here. Occasionally, I receive an email from a reader with words of encouragement or ideas and for this I am thankful.
I hope you find this new design for Just Politics..? to be an improvement over the version that was here for over eight months. As much as I enjoyed the look and customization possibilities of the previous design, it grew too limiting with the number of articles that appear here. This design was not free, but I consider the money spent on it to be a worthwhile investment.
For the month of January 2010 Just Politics..? received almost 32,000 Unique Visits contrasted with February of 2009 when Just Politics..? received just 4,800 Unique Visits! RSS and email subscriptions are not quite where I’d like them to be, but at least they average about 110 per day. Google Page Rank has gone from “0″ in February 2009 to “4″ for January of 2010.
Comments on the redesign are always welcome. This isn’t what I’d call the “perfect design” but it is as good as I can hope for considering my limited HMTL/CSS skills and time.
Once again, thank you for your readership and your comments. I look forward to seeing Just Politics..? reach its second birthday in February 2011!

I am also thinking of finding a good magazine style theme. Let me know how you end up liking this one.

This theme is pretty good. Were I to have knowledge of CSS I could probably modify this one a bit more but overall I think it’s a vast improvement.
I looked for free magazine themes but they just didn’t do it for me. This one cost me $69.00 but I think the developer worked very hard on it so he deserves my money.

We like your new look. It’s a bit like reading a newspaper on the Internet, and chosing the articles which might interest us. But we’ll tell you more after a few days. It’s hard for older people to get used to new things! I’m afraid that by reading articles at random, we might miss some important ones. It was easier when one day just followed the other.
