Why Our Economy is in the Crapper: Command and Control

Nothing Democratic about this (or maybe it is):

“If you don’t pass this legislation, then … the EPA is going to have to regulate in this area,” the official said. “And it is not going to be able to regulate on a market-based way, so it’s going to have to regulate in a command-and-control way, which will probably generate even more uncertainty.”

Yes and uncertainty is just what our economy needs, isn’t it?  How foolish of the Obama administration to come out and say something like this.

Not only was it stupid to make threats over something as important as the nation’s energy sector and everything that springs from that, but it also means that the White House owns the problem now.  Should Congress not pass Cap and Trade Obama will simply have his minions at the EPA “regulate” CO2.  What incentive do Democrats, many of whom come from states heavy in manufacturing, lay their jobs on the line by voting for such huge tax increases as would come with a carbon trading system?  Exactly… there is no incentive.

So just as Obama threatens Iran with “serious consequences” (though that country continues to kill and jail protesters) and North Korea with sanctions (they continue to smuggle weapons and test missiles)  but has done nothing, so this will be yet another threat Obama has made.
