I'm glad you appreciate my comments. I hope others do. They're not just for you....

Of course, what happens in USA is none of my business. But I lived in Houston, Texas, in the 60s. Being part of the British Consulate, I was very involved in American politics. Having the Cuban missiles pointed at us, and a USA president assassinated during my stay, sharpened my interest and deepened my knowledge.I made very good American friends. I always kept in touch.

I hope I'm forgiven if, at times, (like old people do) I seem to give advice. It's never personal. I've always loved USA. Presently I'm very worried...

Let me remind you that not only the media and the Democrats treated Bush unfairly. Some conservative blogs put him down as a RINO. I had to ask what it meant. I couldn't believe my eyes and my ears! It seemed that, no matter what, President Bush didn't please anyone...

We (old ladies in Canada) felt sorry for him, and his very nice wife. We appreciated many of his qualities. For some of the anti-lefties, to go back to the past now, to point his good deeds, is a bit late.

I don't say you did it, Harrison. I didn't read your blog then. But many Republicans criticised President Bush as much as the media and the Democrats did. The best thing to do now is to let his name rest in peace. Bad enough that Obama, and his cohort, still play the Blame-Bush game.

Another sad example from the past: Not only liberals laughed at President Ford stumbling on a plane steps. Many conservatives voted for Carter in 1976. I was horrified. Ford was such a good, solid man. And Carter such an inexperienced ignoramus!

We're far from golf here. But I wanted to say this for a long time. Conservative Americans should learn to appreciate a Republican President when they have one. Even if he is not perfect.....Who will ever be?

All the best!

I don't care if he spends all day out there... only the lack of coverage compared to Bush's time on the links.

I don't begrudge the President's frequent golf outings. The optimist in me says that if it clears his head in order to pursue sound policy then so much the better. The cynic in me says if he can't screw up things if he is out golfing. Hey, can we organize a few rounds for Congress?

As far as the gender thing goes... how many females in his administration actually play golf?
