Conor Friedersdorf has been tireless in pointing out the various hypocrises among conservatives in countenancing rhetoric that is either offensive or just plain stupid. Here he picks apart the odd relationship that many conservatives have with Glenn Beck, who has a lot of nominally conservative opinions, but is not an establishment or movement figure: On reading Mr. Beck’s defenders, I can’t help but think that their judgment and integrity are being corroded by politics.

For those of us who both want to increase people’s freedom to limit their family size and save the planet from catastrophic climate change, a recent report from the London School of Economics indicating that condom distribution is five times more cost effective than green technologies in reducing carbon emissions seems like unalloyed good news.   More freedom, cleaner world—simple, right?   But if you have even the barest understanding of the history of arguments involving population control, suddenly it’s not so simple anymore.

I like Palin well enough, and I find the title of her new book interesting (she seems to be angling for those who feel driven out by the GOP), but in general I care very little for political books.  I find most of them to be trite and shallow and so full of self-serving nonsense as to be worthless. No insult toward Palin intended, I just don’t think they’re really all that valuable in terms of the national debate.  But if you like political books, you can find out more about hers here .

I suppose you could call it serendipity that l’Affaire Codpiece should conclude at about the same time that my poll on Michael Ignatieff’s stupidity closed. So: how stupid, do we think, is Michael Ignatieff? As it turns out, very stupid indeed: How stupid do you think is Michael Ignatieff? ( survey ) Note that, in the “other” category, most of the answers were pretty much “all of the above.” Which is one of the reasons why I don’t like having multiple-choice answers; I happen to believe that people should take their time and think about the best or worst item, rather than just click on everything and believe that’s something clever.

There is a list of ‘names’ I call liberals/Democrats. But to name-call suggests there is no truth in the handle. Well, as far as liberals go, I can prove every handle beyond any and all doubt. Liberals are LIARS! They have to be. Liberal politicians cannot tell you their real motives and agenda, or they would never get enough votes to win. Liberal voters lie to themselves, to save their own sanity. They know their compassion for others is really weakness they see in themselves.

We have heard over the last few months from liberals such as Nancy Pelosi and the liberal news media, that the Tea Party events and Town Hall meetings were the source of dire concern because they might cause violence. These outrageous statements are never backed up by the facts. The only violence at the Town Hall meetings and the Tea Parties have been by leftist thugs such as the SEIU union members who assaulted a Town Hall attendee in St. Louis.

How to deal with angry conservatives:Call them racists: If we shout “Racist!” every time they say something, maybe they’ll finally reflect on the racism that motivates them against a black president and give up whatever silly cause they think they’re pushing. If they dispute the racism accusation, point out how sensitive they are about the charge and how that further proves it’s true (people who really aren’t racist shouldn’t have any problem with being called racist).
