On the Road From Yellowstone
We made excellent time on our way to Yellowstone. The weather was in our favor and fortunately it was smooth sailing (85-95 mph the whole way). I did this drive once in a VW Bus and while that was awesome it is best experienced only during warmer months. Getting out into the wide open countryside...

Wacky Wednesday: Are SeaWorld Killer Whales Illegal Slaves?
Part of me wishes I was making this up but People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is suing SeaWorld for how its Killer Whales are being treated at three of its locations: The suit, filed in October 2011, asked that the court declare that the orcas are “held in slavery and/or involuntary...

The Magic of the Open Road (In a V8)
There is something special about taking a roadtrip in the United States. Getting out onto the open road, seeing the country, taking in the sights. Once you’re outside of the metropolitan areas you begin to realize just how sparsely populated America is. Driving for an hour and only seeing...

San Francisco’s Parklets: Another Stupid Liberal Idea
I’ve lived in San Francisco since 1995 and, for part of that time, it’s been without a car. I don’t mean I’ve been one of those hypocritical people who don’t own a car (and decry the internal combustion engine) but rents one for the weekends. I mean without a car. Like...

Mercurial Occupyers Turn on Their Liberal “Masters”
Occupy Oakland: Violent Leftists are the same everywhere... The Occupy movement exists mainly in large metropolitan areas which are almost always governed by Democrats. When the Occupy movement started in the United States the mayors of these cities were unwilling to clean these cockroaches out of...

Newt’s Flame Out
Conspiracy theorists unite! Some will say all of the negative press from The Druge Report the other day painting Newt in a negative light is responsible for his decline in the polls. Drudge picks his favorites, that’s true, but few were disputing stories with titles like: INSIDER: GINGRICH REPEATEDLY...

Wacky Wednesday: Hollywood Hypocrisy: Robert Redford, Sundance Film Festival, and the 1%
Nothing gets me fired up like some false Class Warfare/Liberal Hypocrisy. Robert Redford, the “Golden Boy” of American cinema, said the following about his corporate/affluent Hollywood-sponsored event: We show stories of what people in America are really dealing with, and really living...

A Fig for Newton?
What's all the fuss about? In the strange world outside the United States there is something called the Metric System. Found in this peculular way of measuring things is the “Newton Meter” which gauges how much torque is applied to something. In America, tonight, we also have a...

My friend, you are a racist and distort the truth, shame on you.

Point taken. I like the “same shit, different asshole” one myself. I have seen people go at each other with 2×4′s at the height of the Vietnam protests, so a few signs are no biggie. I suspect you could look back in history and find even uglier stuff. I guess we all live in glass houses to some extent.

But are’t these people just expressing their freedom of speech, as Hannity or Rush might say? Aren’t these people the patriots of America who love their country so much?

Brian did I make any judgement about them?

Obama is quick to distance himself from race when it comes to him. I think the closest he came to it was Henry Louis Gates, Jr. To his credit, Obama did say many times he didn’t think race was the reason people disagree with him. However, regarding passing the buck I think you are correct.

All those pictures are fake. Obama is the first president ever to be criticized.

I never understood the whole Hitler comparison to either Bush or Obama. I mean, until he decides that he wants to round up a certain ethnic group in his country and kill them, lets lay off the Hitler comments, eh?

The whole nationalism/totalitarianism thing. But I bet most people don’t know Adolf wasn’t really a Socialist even though his party was the National Socialist German Worker’s Party.
3:16 PM
Would you all agree that our President deserves our respect? We can disagree with his policies but not go as far as to say that he is the “rebirth of Hitler” or that “we should have buried him with JFK”. Showing discontent with our President’s policies is very different from making the mentioned statements.
11:54 PM
The President does not necessarily deserve our respect but the Office of the Presidency does.
12:27 AM
If the office deserves respect, the person holding the office deserves respect as well. Any human in a sense deserves a level of respect. Not meaning opposition, even on a personal level, is wrong. Once again, not liking or even despising our President is very different to wishing or wanting him dead, something that can even be denounced as unpatriotic.
12:30 AM
Obama has not earned my respect. I do not wish him personal ill I just want his term to be over so we can get a qualified candidate.
1:20 AM
I agree. Allow me to make myself clearer. Because he is our President we must be respectful but not necessarily give him our respect, as you have mention, Obama as well as anyone else must earn that.
