Is Barack Obama a Racist?
What other conclusion could there be?
Embattled New York Governor David Paterson said on Sunday he was still running for office, in the face of reports that President Barack Obama had asked him to withdraw from the 2010 race for fear that he cannot regroup from a series of political setbacks.
“I am running for office,” Paterson told reporters at a Manhattan parade. “I’m not going to discuss confidential conversations,” he said, adding that he planned to continue focusing on matters related to the financial crisis.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that the Obama administration is worried Paterson’s unpopularity could drag down New York’s Democratic members of Congress and the Democratic-controlled state legislature in November 2010 elections.
Citing an administration official, the Times reported that Obama’s request that Paterson step aside was put forward by his political advisers, but approved by the president.
It should be remembered that Paterson had this to say about being black and governor:
The governor is blaming race for his political troubles again – saying some people are uncomfortable seeing so many black politicians in power.
“Part of what I feel is that one very successful minority is permissible, but when you see too many success stories, then some people get nervous,” Paterson told political blogger Gerson Borrero in a report posted Monday.
Considering there are only two black governors in the U.S. obviously Barack Obama is prejudiced against blacks… why else would he not want Paterson to run? Or maybe Obama just doesn’t like handicapped people. After all, he did make that quip about the Special Olympics when he was running for president and Paterson is legally blind:
While appearing on “The Tonight Show” to tout his economic plan, Obama — who famously rolled a gutter ball while trying to woo primary voters last year — told Leno that he had been practicing in the White House bowling alley and recently scored an unimpressive 129.
“It’s like — it was like Special Olympics or something,” the president said, prompting laughter from the audience.
So maybe that’s it.
I’m hoping some Liberals can explain this to me because they always seem to have convenient answers to explain Obama’s faults.

Ummm, how about the obvious. A lot of people don’t think he can win and would like to see him step aside for a stronger candidate. I’m not saying it is a good idea for Obama to be doing this so publicly or at all, in fact I’m pretty sure it isn’t. Paterson seems to be playing the race card; Obama just seems to be playing hardball politics.

Well for one I was being sarcastic but a more serious point is a story called The Boy Who Cried Wolf. And “boy” isn’t used racially either.

I am not sure Obama is cognitively adept at self-examination. And I don’t like how the Governor is staring at me…..

Windroot is correct that at face value its just good ol’ fashioned brass knuckle politics… however, that will not stand up to the narrative that has been established by the liberal-Left with respect to what’s legitimate political game and what is acted upon because of bigotry/racism.

If Paterson runs he will first get into a divisive primary with Andrew Cuomo, and if he won that, he would probably lose to the Republican candidate. So why wouldn’t it be in the interests of the Democratic Party for him to step aside?
I understand that you are trying to make a point that it is unfair for the left to cry racism when Obama is attacked. But the left does not cry racism every time Obama is attacked. Only when the attacks smell like racism.

The smell is rather frequent.

This comment is slightly vexatious, perhaps my data is misrepresented or is misinterpreted. Or perhaps my racism precludes me from realizing its not really racism.
