This morning, reports are circulating that former President Carter referred to the protesters of ‘big government’ and President Obama as being primarily driven by racism. Thus making a link between everyone who is in disagreement with the expanse of government as being a white supremacist racist. As a conservative, it was easy for me to immediately identify Carter’s lunacy, but it baffled me that many Americans quickly agree with our nations ‘worst president’ (and ex-president) without any proof

Consider the following: Democrats (and liberals in general) are being likened to Nazis, racial tensions are being stirred, secession is being floated as a good idea, concerned citizens think Obama wants to have “Death Panels”, he might not even BE an American, and protesters are bringing guns to rallies and others are just bringing guns for the sake of having a gun…where the President happens to be speaking.

There better be some changes soon, or it’s “Th…th…that’s all folks”. Well, duh! Economists and politicians seem surprised that Wall Street’s outrageous behavior continues unabated , which is about as insightful as saying they never saw the meltdown coming. Astronomical compensation, uber-risky investment behavior, and sales of new, more exotic investment instruments is still in vogue in Gordon Geckoland. I’m a believer in as little regulation as possible.

September 16th, 2009 Alan Schroeder: It is impossible to quantify the degree to which anti-Obama sentiment reflects racism. Clearly there are many possible reasons for disagreement with Barack Obama and his policies, and not all criticism of this president is motivated by the color of his skin. But Jimmy Carter’s assertion does not come out of nowhere. It is accompanied by abundant evidence — some of it outright racist in nature, most of it racist on a more subtle level.

This health insurance reform bill has sunk to a level that makes me wonder why all the huge corporations in the country don’t line up in front of the white house on Halloween, with bags, dressed as burglars, yelling trick or treat!  The Baucus plan is yet another corporate welfare program masquerading as public welfare policy.  If this is the plan that goes forward from here, we all should be working hard to defeat it.  It just makes me want to scream.  What on earth is going on with the Democrats these days?

Every couple years Jimmy has to remind us all that he’s still among the breathing. This time he appeared in an interview to share his sage advice about race relations. He’s of the opinion that a “large majority” of the criticism aimed at Obama is racially motivated. Yeah, right. A majority of the country, including plenty of white folk, had no problem voting for a black guy for president. But now if they disagree with him that somehow makes them racists. Ridiculous.
