Bye, Bye Obama
Just as Japan awakened the Sleeping Giant after Pearl Harbor Obama has awakened the Silent Majority. The grassroots protests in Washington, D.C. don’t bode well for Obama or the Democrats. 2010 should see Republicans sweep back into power (Images NYTimes):

I really don’t get what these people are so upset about. The stock market is soaring. The housing market seems to be bottoming out and is on the road to recovery. The American auto industry has been saved. Credit markets have been freed up. American prestige seems to have improved abroad. Things are going reasonably well in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are trying to fix what everyone agrees is a screwed-up and inefficient health insurance system. So what is getting these people so fired up? It can’t be the deficit, or they would have been marching for the past eight years when Bush doubled the national debt. So where is all the anger coming from?

I don’t think things are as sunny as you think. Regarding the auto industry this was a headline from last week:
“WASHINGTON – Taxpayers face losses on a significant portion of the $81 billion in government aid provided to the auto industry, an oversight panel said in a report to be released Wednesday.”
Regarding Iraq death tolls are up (same in Afghanistan), Obama announced to expect significantly high numbers of unemployed for years to come, and Obama has run up the debt more in 6 months than Bush did in 8 years.
People have plenty of reasons to be upset.
