Obama, Like Bill Clinton, Wants China to Get U.S. Missile Technology

It’s time to party like it’s 1994!  Or maybe 1977..?  Like Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize but, more importantly, like Bill Clinton, Obama makes it easy for China to get their hands on our advanced missile technology.  I guess when you blow up the deficit like Obama did and the Chinese are keeping your ship afloat by holding $3 trillion you have to make some, uh, concessions:

President Obama recently shifted authority for approving sales to China of missile and space technology from the White House to the Commerce Department — a move critics say will loosen export controls and potentially benefit Chinese missile development.

The president issued a little-noticed “presidential determination” Sept. 29 that delegated authority for determining whether missile and space exports should be approved for China to Commerce Secretary Gary Locke.

Taking a rewind trip back to the Clinton administration we see a similar story (surprise!):

The Clinton administration between 1993 and 1996 allowed numerous exports of potential ballistic-missile technology to the Chinese government despite China’s refusal, in some instances, to allow inspections to assure that the technology was only being used for civilian purposes, according to classified documents and four U.S. government officials.

Moreover, as early as 1993, a classified Pentagon study raised questions about the possible diversion of U.S. technology by the Chinese military for China’s ballistic-missile program, according to the documents and sources. Defense Department officials privately charge that the Clinton administration ignored its warnings regarding the potential diversions.

So it seems as though we have come full circle back to more failed policies of Democratic administrations.  Those little bits of “technology” China bought during Clinton’s time (and now under Obama) have all sorts of nice uses such as making Chinese missiles better able to hit possible future targets like American warships protecting Taiwan or possibly use in a Star Wars program of their own.

Isn’t it ironic that Obama deals away SDI (and gets stiffed) to the Russians but now he’s going to help the Chinese (like Clinton did) with missile defense technology of their own?

The more “stimulus” Obama injects into the economy the more in debt we as a nation become to the Chinese and the more “deals” we’ll have to give them to keep our Communist bankers happy.
