Barack Obama's Popularity, An Obituary

Barack Obama’s popularity died today.  It was almost 7.5 months old.  Obama’s popularity spent most of its life in the minds of Liberal reporters with weekends spent on wistful retreats just outside of Reality.

Obama’s popularity went to school at the New York Times, CBS News, and did its graduate studies at ABC News and MSNBC.  At times, Obama’s popularity lived the good life, taking in the shows on New York City’s Broadway but suffered a sudden illness as Air Force One flew over the city on a photo-op.

Barack Obama’s popularity spent, in private, time with such politicians as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid but in public preferred to be seen instead doing things like jogging and playing golf.

Early in its life, Obama’s popularity fought several battles with Hillary Clinton’s popularity and the two, although later proclaiming they had “made up,” were never seen together again.

When Obama’s popularity became president it enjoyed approval ratings at almost 65%.  Unfortunately, it was almost all downhill from there.  Analysts struggled to explain whether it was an early infection of Swine Flu that caused its decline in health or, as some have suggested, the symptoms of Liberalism became evident to the American people.

Liberalism has, in the past, been associated with the death of popularity with such famous people as Jimmy Carter having fallen victim to it.  Scientists are working to find a cure for Liberalism but budget constraints have forced much work to be postponed to a future date.

Although Obama’s popularity appeared to have regained some of its strength in April of 2009 it was a brief reprieve and in July of 2009 it first slipped below 50%.

When Obama’s popularity reached 45% in August it was cryogenically frozen in the hopes that its condition would not worsen but skeptics pointed out that even Hell is not that cold.
