Obama's "No New Taxes" Just Another Campaign Promise

We're trying to fit Obama's broken promises in here!
As if anybody expected a Democrat to become president vowing to “reform” all aspects of American life without raising taxes? As if that would ever happen.
Yet another addition to the Obama Broken Promise file. Time to switch to high definition DVDs so we can fit all the reversals he’s had since becoming president:
On Sunday Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers were asked about the ‘T’ word during news-talk show discussions of the American economy.
Neither one said higher taxes were on the table, now. But it was interesting to see the wavering and posturing that was going on, as both men said Congress and the White House might have to be more aggressive in stimulating the U.S. economy into 2010.
Said Geithner: “We can’t make these judgments yet about exactly what it’s going to take and how we’re going to get there.”
Said Summers: “There is a lot that can happen over time. … But what the president has been completely clear on is that he is not going to pursue any of his priorities — not health care, not energy, nothing — in ways that are primarily burdening middle-class families. That is something that is not going to happen.”
What Team Obama will argue in the coming weeks is that maybe people he promised he wouldn’t raise taxes on will pay more in taxes but it’ll be necessary to “take one for the team” so as to give us a lower tax burden later. Right. They will probably say all of these new Obamakare and Cap and Trade “reforms” will end up saving us money later (of course this is false) and, in return for their sacrifices (always love it how it’s a “burden” when it falls to you but a “sacrifice” when it falls to others?) they will gain healthcare benefits, cleaner air, and some vague notions about a bright future for America’s children.
What Team Obama really means is they can’t show what anybody will gain but there sure will be a lot of promises… sort of like the one not to raise taxes.

I wonder what the reaction will be on the left when he tries to raise taxes on the middle class. Will people who supported him during the campaign be upset that he lied to them or will the just think he, in his infinite wisdom, is doing what he has to do?

Oh I think they will make up excuses for him like “Bush forced him to do that” or “He’s trying to help the middle class it’s ok” and the like.

why not talking about the boys and girls who plundered the USA for 8 years on a row?

There is no way in hell that Obama is going to get all of his big government programs in place without raising taxes on everybody.
