Happiness is a Warm Gun
Hopefully the homeowner will join the NRA, buy a gun, and learn how to use it and take control of their life:
TUCSON, Ariz. — Authorities in Tucson say a man suspected of robbing a home and attacking the homeowner was fatally shot as he tried to leave.
Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy Dawn M. Barkman says a neighbor called police as three men broke into a home Friday and pistol-whipped the homeowner. She says the men then fired shots at another neighbor who intervened as they were leaving the home.
Authorities say one suspect was shot as the neighbor’s son returned fire. That suspect later died at a hospital from his injuries and his identification has not been released.
Authorities say the other two men are in custody.
And yes… I am aware that the Beatles song in the title was meant ironically.

I would not call it ‘happiness’ but it certainly has become a necessity.

Your government wouldn’t let you but in the USA the states with the highest percentage of concealed weapons permits also have the lowest murder rates than those states who don’t allow citizens to legally carry. You do the math on that one.

Can you provide me some details with a scientific link?
Crimes in the USA are 10 times much higher than in any other European country.
FYI: Finland has the most guns if you count by person.

From the Liberal Huffington Post. If you care, you can search and see in states like Florida and Texas, when CCW permits were issued murder rates dropped.
“According to a comprehensive study which reviewed crime statistics in every county in the United States from 1977 to 1992, states that passed concealed carry law reduced their rate of murder by 8.5%, rape by 5%, aggravated assault by 7%, and robbery by 3%.”

And Finland’s population is very different from that of the US but your point regarding them is valid.

Yes, these are crime statistics but does not cover Concealed Carry permit holders and crime. US is #24 out of 62:
