One reason why newspapers are going down the toilet, I think, is because you have over 50% of the population not seeing their values reflected in their city's papers. That's why I stopped reading my local paper and cancelled my subscription to Time and Newsweek. Maybe what the polls are confirming is that the 2008 election was more about "punishing" Bush than about electing Obama.
