I read that because many blacks came to polls to support Obama, and on social issues they tend to be more conservative, it actually helped the anti-gay marriage crowd. The downfall of gay marriage in California makes sense if you just consider the cultural breakdown. With such a large Hispanic population who are typically Catholic, the Liberal's attempt to get this passed in California isn't going to happen.
