Critics don't need a reason to speak up about Cheney. He was subjected to comments even before he became VP.

Much of the media is against Cheney, obviously Obama doesn't want his points to resound or he would have released the memos Cheney keeps talking about, and the Democrats in Congress probably wish he would just go away so I think it's tough to judge whether it is really his comments that are doing harm or the people filtering his comments to the "public."

Cheney will never get a fair shake I think.

It is not wrong for Cheney to speak up. I fully support the First Amendment rights of every American, including Dick Cheney. The better question is whether Cheney is doing himself or his cause any good by speaking up in the way that he has. Isn't it ironic that Cheney maintained such a low profile all the time that he was acting as a very powerful vice president, and now that he no longer has power, he is all over every possible news show. Had he been a bit more open as vice-president, people might be more receptive to his comments now. As it is, I think he sounds defensive, and I think he just incites his critics every time he opens his mouth. And he has a lot of critics!

Joe Markowitz’s last blog post..California Headed for Disaster Again

Well the real point of the article was people who say it is wrong for Cheney to speak up because he's no longer V.P. but Gore did the same thing but Cheney is asserting facts. I simply posted the info on Gore because it is an example of a former V.P. criticizing the new administration.

You're right, it wasn't two years. The article you are quoting states that Gore waited only one year and 10 months after the 2000 election to criticize Bush. How dare Al Gore round upwards so outrageously!
