Obama Uses Bush's "Scare Tactics" to Democratic Delight

Can what... become Socialist?
What a difference having a Democrat in the White House makes. Let’s take this sentance from Liberal writer Paul Krugman:
We now know that from the very beginning, the Bush administration and its allies in Congress saw the terrorist threat not as a problem to be solved, but as a political opportunity to be exploited.
Now let’s change a few words here and there:
We now know that from the very beginning, the Obama administration and its allies in Congress saw the financial crisis not as a problem to be solved, but as a political opportunity to be exploited.
How does that one read now? Isn’t it amazing how that works in Washington, D.C.? Do you think this sounds like tin foil hat stuff? See what President Obama’s Chief of staff said:
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” said Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. “This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not do before.”
It’s not just the White House Chief of Staff saying this… look at what our Secretary of State said in Europe:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday “never waste a good crisis,” and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way.
Even our president got in on the action:
President Barack Obama on Saturday challenged his country to see its hard times as a chance to “discover great opportunity in the midst of great crisis.”
So you have almost the exact same thing said by two of the most senior officials in the Obama White House and by the president himself. You don’t have to be a German rocket scientist to figure out that President Obama, who said he was going to bring “hope” and “change” to the Oval Office behaving exactly like former President George W. Bush did after 9-11.
Let’s rewind to the last presidency for a moment and to what USA Today said about the Bush “scare tactics” and let’s see if we can notice a difference between then and now:

Obama takes a page from the Bush playbook?
President Bush is rarely as vivid about the specter of terrorism as he is when he’s trying to stampede Congress into doing something it should think twice about. On Wednesday, he demanded quick passage of a flawed surveillance measure because “terrorists are planning attacks on our country … that will make Sept. 11 pale by comparison.”
How quickly did President Obama push through the largest spending bill in United States history and with how little opposition? Here’s what President Obama said:
“If we do not move swiftly to sign the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law, an economy that is already in crisis will be faced with catastrophe. … Millions more Americans will lose their jobs. Homes will be lost. Families will go without health care. Our crippling dependence on foreign oil will continue. That is the price of inaction.”
Let’s compare this from a quote by former President George W. Bush:
The enemy in Vietnam had neither the intent nor the capability to strike our homeland. The enemy in Iraq does. Nine-eleven taught us that to protect the American people, we must fight the terrorists where they live so that we don’t have to fight them where we live.
They sound kind of the same, no? Pretty amazing that what Bush said then was condemned by the press and Democrats while Obama uses the same tone and tactics to further his agenda but we’re not hearing the same kind of critical remarks. I wonder why? The answer is quite simple: furthing a Socialist agenda is something the Democrats favor even if they condemned same the method when if was used by a Republican president for a different purpose.
I was never in favor of the United States having gone into Iraq as I’ve always felt that Iran has always been the greatest threat however, if the Democrats criticized a president for getting his way using fear, they should have the same reaction for any president doing this.
With the stock market having experienced the fastest drop under a newly elected president in 90 years, the American people, and the Democrats, should wake up to the fact that fear is not the best motivator in the longterm.
